Alpha Xi Delta and the Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Iota Xi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta is excited to spread awareness and raise money for Stand Up For Kids on the WPI campus. The Kindly Hearts Initiative has given us the opportunity to look for a local non-profit organization that our sisters are passionate to support for ongoing years. In supporting Stand Up For Kids Worcester, we hope to shed light on the importance of its cause. The Stand Up For Kids program provides shelter, supplies, and educational programs for youth experiencing homelessness. Alpha Xi Delta is committed to supporting youth experiencing homelessness in the greater Worcester region. We hope our fundraising and awareness efforts can help ensure that each affected youth can have the help they need to survive.

Philanthropic Activities to Support Stand Up For Kids Worcester

Since the administration of the Kindly Heart Initiative, the Philanthropy Team of the Iota Xi chapter has worked hard to organize a variety of philanthropic events to host. This fall, we plan on hosting the AmaXing Challenge: Xi Karaoke, a karaoke event where all members of the WPI community can have fun and raise money for the Kindly Hearts Initiative. Along with this, we are working with another organization to host Summerfest, an event in which all of campus is invited to a carnival on the quad with many lawn game activities, a dunk tank, food trucks, and much more. Other philanthropy events hosted by Alpha Xi Delta on WPI’s campus include PenXi Wars, Letters of Love, Waffle House, and Pancake House. The sisters of our chapter frequently table sit in the Campus Center in an effort to raise money for our philanthropic causes.

Other Community Service Activities

Along with supporting Stand Up For Kids Worcester on campus, the Iota Xi chapter also participates in hands-on outreach community service for the organization. Sisters also participate in a number of other community service events both on and off-campus. These include working with other organizations on campus to host food drives for the Worcester Community Fridges and Work on Worcester, a campus-wide event that puts students and sisters to work throughout Worcester. In addition, we have high levels of participation in WPI’s Relay for Life and frequently get involved in other service events on campus.
