Iota Xi

at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Letter From Membership Vice President

Dear Potential New Member,

Hello! My name is Maddie Donahue, and I am the Membership Vice President of the Iota Xi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta, which means I oversee our member recruitment processes.  On behalf of our entire chapter, I am excited to welcome you to Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The transition to college is one that brings forth so many emotions, opportunities, and challenges; it's exciting, but it can be difficult and unfamiliar as well.  Whether you're in the midst of navigating this transition or looking to enhance your college experience, I highly encourage you to explore the possibility of joining Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) at WPI.  Joining a sorority is something I had never pictured myself doing, but has easily been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I found my place in Alpha Xi Delta here, and have gotten more than I ever expected out of joining. I have grown in leadership, taking on positions and learning important life skills such as delegation and collaboration. I have grown as a community member, with the opportunity to participate in community service opportunities that impact not only WPI but the entire Worcester community. I have also grown as a friend, with both the strengthening of current friendships and the making of new friendships within Alpha Xi Delta, Greek Life, and all of WPI. Our organization values sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and service to the community, and being able to integrate these values into my day-to-day life has brought so much additional purpose to my college education. This organization has changed my life for the better in so many ways.

I hope you'll sign up for formal recruitment in the fall--we can't wait to meet you and share with you more about our values, sisterhood, and philanthropy!  If you have any questions regarding sorority recruitment, FSL at WPI, or Alpha Xi Delta in general, please do not hesitate to contact me at mldonahue@wpi.edu .

Kind Regards,

Maddie Donahue
